Marley (Foster)
Marley comes to us in April 2018 from an Indiana family that had simply out grown him. His original name was Elvis but due to his wild hairdo - he was renamed Marley. His last name is that of Kim Foster who had made the phone call that made Courage Rock Marley's forever home.
Marley is a chestnut colored 9.3h (39") Shetland Pony gelding. We believed Marley had never been ridden or pulled a cart however his willingness to please his humans and trust in you has made him willing to do both. His attitude and intelligence by breed, make him an excellent candidate for a therapy horse.
Marley has made many public appearances including visits to the local assisted living homes . He has participated in community events like Monticello's city dog walks, pony rides at the Legion, part of a live nativity scene during Home for the Holidays, and assisted Santa at the fire station passing out candy to all the visitors.
He has led the other horses during the Christmas parades since 2018.
Although he is small in size, he is huge in heart and loves people.
Marley is used for round pen liberty work and builds confidence to work with the larger horses. He is ridden by the kids but only walk trot and pulls a cart.
Our Mission is to engage and develop the relationship between humans and the therapeutic energy of a horse to strengthen the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of ones life.
