Courage Rock Stable
A year after the loss of their son Seth in 2012 to an apartment fire while he was serving in the US Army, Kim found strength and encouragement through friends, family, and the horses at Solid Rock Therapeutic Riding Center in Ohio. A gift of one of those horses would be a start to a program in the White County area to help others who would benefit from working with the horses. Courage Rock Stable Inc. was established in June 2017 after three years of planning. Courage Rock is a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides free services to veterans, first responders, and qualified family members.
Kim and Kevin Markham bought this 1940s farmhouse in the country with neighbors barely insight. One of the few outbuildings is the ole' cow barn which is now home for the horses. The barn has a friendly rustic feel with open stalls to see the horses and allow limited contact with each other.

Courage Rock was created with passion for family and horses by Seth's family who was inspired to offer equine therapy and education to others resulting from that life changing event.
During the winter and spring season there is a feeling of wide open space with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. During the planting season, the place becomes secluded like a small oasis in the middle of the crops. Regardless the time of year, this humble laid back quiet atmosphere will surely help relax the day away.
